Professional Experience
Diane Tomb is a seasoned and experienced leader with more than 20 years of experience in the public affairs arena. She is an adept and capable strategist in creating and managing public affairs, coalition building, reputation management, grassroots, government relations, crisis communications, corporate identity, media relations, advertising and marketing programs. In addition, Diane's knowledge and proven expertise with legislative, regulatory and public policy processes provides B&D Consulting clients a wealth of experience.
Diane founded Tomb & Associates LLC, a public affairs company based in Washington, D.C. Prior to entering private practice, she was unanimously confirmed by the U.S. Senate and served as the Assistant Secretary of Housing and Urban Development for Public Affairs from 2001-04. Earlier in her career, Diane was the Senior Vice President for Communications at the Fannie Mae Foundation, a vice president of public affairs at Burson-Marsteller and held senior positions on presidential and gubernatorial campaigns, as well as on the White House staff, from 1986-92.
As a chief spokesperson for federal government agencies, nonprofits, U.S. presidential and statewide political campaigns, she has been quoted extensively in the New York Times, Washington Post and Wall Street Journal, as well as local news outlets. She has appeared on local and national television news outlets on a wide variety of issues.
