Professional Experience

Nick Manetto applies more than a decade of experience in communications and public policy to design and execute high-impact strategic communications campaigns that enable clients to achieve their public policy goals and objectives.

Nick's strategic communications work spans multiple sectors and industries, including health and life sciences, insurance and financial services, education, nonprofit and economic development. He specializes in developing targeted and multi-faceted initiatives and in distilling complex public policy issues into simple and compelling themes and messages that resonate with audiences that include the media, lawmakers, regulators and consumers.

Nick prepares clients for interaction with the media, crafts and pitches stories to the media, organizes briefings between clients and key journalists, serves as a media spokesperson, organizes and manages coalitions, develops new media strategies and provides reputation and crisis management services. Strategic communications campaigns designed and implemented by Nick have resulted in successful client coverage in top national, regional and trade media, including USA Today, CBS News, the Associated Press, The New York Times, Newsday, the Los Angeles Times, The Wall Street Journal and CNN.

Additionally, Nick applies his legislative background to advocate for clients on Capitol Hill, with a focus on health care policy. His work has helped attain client legislative successes particularly in the areas of Medicare and pediatrics.

Prior to joining B&D Consulting, Nick worked on Capitol Hill where he served as press secretary and legislative assistant for a senior member of Congress and ran two successful re-election campaigns. Before coming to Washington, Nick was a news reporter at The Times newspaper in Trenton, N.J., where he covered a wide variety of beats and issues.
