Professional Experience

Jonathan Dilley is a communities and local governments federal relations professional. He represents his clients' interests at the local, state and federal levels, bringing national attention and resources to cities, municipalities, nonprofit organizations, colleges and universities. 

Jonathan works with clients to identify key objectives and translates their goals into actionable federal strategies, making sure that clients are prepared with messages that resonate with decision-makers on Capitol Hill and the federal agencies. Through the development of comprehensive federal priorities, Jonathan is able to advance appropriations, legislative and regulatory strategies, securing critical funding and support from numerous governmental agencies.

Jonathan also advocates on behalf of clients — businesses and communities — who are focused on energy and climate related issues. He takes a proactive approach to ensure his clients are heard when it comes to the impact of climate change.

As Vice-Chair of B&D Consulting's Community Engagement Committee, Jonathan spends considerable time looking for ways to leverage the firm's myriad talents to the benefit of the D.C. metro area. 

Prior to joining B&D Consulting, Jonathan served as Legislative Assistant to U.S. Congressman Dan Burton of Indiana, former Chairman of the House Government Reform Committee. In addition to appropriations work, Jonathan advised the Congressman on a number of legislative issues, including national defense, homeland security and economic development. Jonathan also served as Congressman Burton's liaison to the Republican Study Committee and the Northeast-Midwest Coalition.
