Professional Experience

Margaret Brooks specializes in developing federal relations strategies tailored to the needs of her clients. She provides guidance in the design, implementation and execution of advocacy agendas and funding strategies, using tools such as federal appropriations, competitive grants and programmatic support. Specializing in federal grants, Margaret has trained organizations on grant identification and analysis. Her client list includes local governments, universities, transportation agencies, social service agencies and community organizations. 

Margaret works to prioritize clients' goals and objectives, and identify opportunities with strong potential. She develops effective plans for successful interaction with Congressional offices, federal agencies and other stakeholders. Margaret ensures her clients are prepared to convincingly communicate their messages, and she provides the materials and support needed to persuade relevant decision-makers.

Margaret has been engaged in B&D Consulting's energy, climate and environment practice. In particular, she has an interest in developing sustainable economic development programs and is engaged with several technology-based economic development organizations focused on alternative and renewable energy sources.

Margaret has significant experience working with members of Congress and foreign dignitaries, having served on the Senate Committee on Foreign Relations.
