During the Pentagon's 2005 Base Realignment and Closure round, B&D Consulting successfully led the effort of community and military leaders to help safeguard a local air base against adverse impacts by the closures. B&D Consulting continues to coordinate with federal and state officials to identify a niche national security role for the community by utilizing the assets of the base, also advocating before the U.S. Congressional delegation for key military construction projects. B&D Consulting has worked to build strategic awareness and congressional support for the regional defense industry cluster and also works to assist the local airport with non-defense related infrastructure projects.
On behalf of a large urban county, B&D Consulting has worked to advance a number of economic development initiatives, including highway interchanges, incubators, a child care center and two large brownfield redevelopment sites. In addition, the firm played a key role in the award of a grant for $1.725 million from the Economic Development Administration to support the development of a program to attract Chinese investment and plant locations.
